On one hand, they are buit for innovation..., on the other hand, they are extremely stable

 

They are rapid adapters :

  • They make small bets early and diversify their portfolios
  • They are active acquirers
  • They manage major resource allocations centrally
  • They have processes that support speed and flexibility
  • They build innovation into everyday operations
They are champions of stability :
  • They focus management attention on culture and shared values
  • They avoid dramatic divesitures
  • They hold on their talent
  • They don't change high-level strategies quickly
  • They have a reliable customer base
  • They keep their senior leadership stable
